A must see and do!

HMV Forum, Sunday 12th December 2010

Responsible for some of HIP-HOPs finest moments Pete RockC.L. Smooth re-unite for a rare and exclusive London show. Hailing from Mount Vernon, New York, they made their debut in the rap world in1991.

Pete Rocks production acumen was highly praised along side of his partner in rhyme [C.L. Smooth] who possessed a distinctive flow matched with a perfect delivery. Classical songs such as 'They Reminisce Over You' (T.R.O.Y.), a tribute song packed with emotions that hasnt been duplicated up to this day and showed the conscientious of the lyrical rhyme slayer C.L. Smooth. After successfully releasing three albums the soul-tight brothers departed ways leaving die-hard fans in a frenzy for the signature horn loops of Pete and the verbal play of the smooth one....

The 'sweet science' revisited one last time

From Daniel Mendoza to Mike Tyson, boxers have embodied and enacted our anxieties about race, ethnicity, gender and sexuality. Looking afresh at everything from neo-classical sculpture to hip-hop lyrics, Boddy explores the way in which the history of boxing has intersected with the history of mass media, and sheds new light on the work of such diverse figures as Henry Fielding and Spike Lee, Charlie Chaplin and Philip Roth, James Joyce and Mae West, Bertolt Brecht and Charles Dickens. This all-encompassing study tells us just how and why boxing has mattered so much to so many.

The man behind the sneakers

"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."

Incredible Mike fined $5000 dollars every time he stepped out on court in these!

Revolutionary kicks in the sneaker game... first time Nike dropped their trademark swoosh.

First kick to feature the “Jumpman” on the tongue of the shoe. This silhouette of Jordan was to celebrate and commemorate his Slam Dunk Contest victory the year before.

It was in the Air Jordan 4′s that Jordan made “the shot” which was a series winning shot at the buzzer to advance the Bulls to the next round in a do or die situation.

The Air Jordan 5 was the first Jordan shoe to have a clear sole.

The Bulls won the NBA Championship defeating the LA Laker’s in the Finals. Jordan again took home the NBA scoring title and his 2nd of 5 MVP awards.

The Air Jordan 7 was also unique in that it did not feature the “Nike Air” logo, a visible air unit, or clear soles. It featured  Huarache technology which made the shoe really stick to your foot.

Jordan himself got his seventh straight scoring title and reached a milestone in his NBA career when scoring his 20,000th point.

The shoe being released was plain and sturdy and was the first model that Michael did not wear in an NBA seasonal game (due to the retirement).
Air Jordan 10 soles featured an honor or an award from each year Michael had spent in the NBA. Michael also returns from retirement.

A terrific design with a new patent leather and the return of the clear rubber sole made the Air Jordan 11 the most appreciated Air Jordan model ever released.

The Air Jordan 12 upper was stitched to resemble the Japanese Rising Sun flag. Jordan wore the Air Jordan 12's while he took home his fifth NBA title and fifth NBA Finals MVP.

The name of the game

"The three toughest fighters I've ever been up against were Sugar Ray Robinson, Sugar Ray Robinson, and Sugar Ray Robinson. I fought Sugar so many times, I'm surprised I'm not diabetic! But I did have him off the canvas once...when he stepped over my body to leave the ring." - Jake LaMotta
